Abstract: Variations exist in the reported distribution of diverticula of the large intestine. The frequency with which different sites in the colon are involved with diverticula depends on several factors, including the geographical area studied and the method of investigation used. We studied the colons removed at postmortem in Malta over 1973 to determine the local characteristics of diverticular disease.
