| Abstract: | In November of 1615, bishop Baldassare Cagliares was conducting a pastoral visit in the Parish of Saint Catherine in Zejtun, which also catered for the people of Zabbar. The village's representative, Antonio Schembri proposed to the bishop that a church be built for the 600 inhabitants of Zabbar. |
