dc.description.abstract	Fl-2016, iz-Zejtun fakkar l-400 sena anniversarju minn meta l-parrocca saret Matrici. Fl-1616, l-Isqof Baldassare Cagliares waqqaf il-parrocca ta’ Haz-Zabbar, li sa dak iz-zmien kienu ghadu jaghmel parti miz-Zejtun. Iz-Zejtun ilu parrocca mill-1436 u hareg mill-parrocca tal-Birgu. Ghalkemm fl-1436, fil-lista tal-parrocci tal-Isqof de Mello, il-parrocca taz-Zejtun kienet iddedikata lil Santa Katerina, illum hi maghrufa bhala ta’ San Girgor. F’din il-Knisja kienet issir festa ta’ San Girgor il-Kbir fit-12 ta’ Marzu. Insibu wkoll statwa tal-gebel ta’ San Girgor il-Kbir mahduma minn Salvu Dimech fl-1838. Il-knisja ghandha ghamla ta’ torri jew fortizza. Fil-fatt kienet ta’ kenn mill-attakki tal-Kursari.	en_GB
