Abstract: The South American country of Ecuador is an elusive backwater to many since it does not normally hog the global media limelight, other than the fact that it hosts the inspirational Galapagos archipelago. Inspirational because low-profile Ecuador was the first country to amend its Constitution in 2008 so as to enshrine the rights of Nature to exist.
