Abstract: In this piece, father Hermann Duncan writes about the importance of saints and martyrs in Christianity with a primary focus on St. Andrew the Apostle. We are introduced to his early life pre-sainthood and the subsequent following within Maltese & Gozitian communities. From the 15th century onwards, his devotees have spanned across different localities with churches, alters, paintings, statutes and other monuments dedicated to his name. This is a Feature article with some example images.
