| Abstract: | The 1954-55 season was a good one, although_ rain interfered with play on a number of occasions during the winter. HighligMs of the season were the visit of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Sweden, H.M. presenting to the winning team a challenge cup which 4e first gave to .the Club in 1952; H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh's participation in the Keyes' Cup; and the Army win in the annual Army v. Navy Match for the Rundle Cup. During the season we said good~bye to Admiral Lord Mountbatten who had been a staunch supporter of the Club for many years, and was at one time its President. We also said farewell to our President, Brigadier C. H. Beville, who had finished his appointment on the Island. |
