| Abstract: | The state of the theatre and of music in Malta is not an inspirng one: both the stage and the concert-hall are dominated by amateurs. On the other hand, there is a gradually growing awareness of our limitations, and sporadic attempts are being made to raise our standards and to give back to drama and its first cousin, music, their ancient dignity. There is even the possibility that these individual efforts may soon have the opportunity of uniting, in which case a definite step forward would be possible. |
