Abstract: The aim of the study was to explore and gain knowledge on the lived experiences of local occupational therapists in the daily treatment of physically disabled persons from different cultural backgrounds. A phenomenological approach was selected for this qualitative study using an open interview with an interview guide. Six occupational therapists working in the main general hospital took part in this study. Data analysis was carried out using the Empirical Phenomenological Psychological Method (EPPM). 4 main themes emerged from this study - communication and language problems, independence vs. dependence, cultural attitudes and social class.
