| Abstract: | Lest the glorious dead be forgotten, on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the Armisticetide of 1918, Malta chose to erect a "simple pile of stone", that is our National Memorial dedicated to our Great War dead. In fact the main feature of the Armistice Day Celebrations of November 11th, 1938 was the unveiling of the War Memorial at Floriana. |
