| Abstract: | A poster presentation regarding homogenisation techniques for method development for the analysis of ciprofloxacin in tissue. Introduction: Bioanalyses are usually carried out in liquid samples– the most common being blood and urine. There is a need to efficiently determine drugs at the site of action to better understand pharmacokinetics. Biological tissues can be thought of as being a more challenging matrix to work with than other liquid matrices such as blood and urine when it comes to the efficient extraction and determination of drugs. Aims: To select the most appropriate homogenisation technique in terms of reproducibility to extract ciprofloxacin from tissue during sample preparation for analysis by High Performance Liquid Chromatography. |
