Abstract: This article describes Malta before, during and after the time of the Phoenicians and Punic cultures. It goes on to describe Malta as a strategic commercial/trading stop, and where a settlement of Phoenician/Punic peoples continued up until the Second Punic War. Evidence of this can be seen in activity at the tas-Silg site but also through material evidence such as pottery and other tradable goods.
