Abstract: The illustration shows the complex or edifice of the parish church and basilica of the Blessed Sacrament of Portu Salvu. The Dominican Oratory of the Blessed Sacrament lies further left in St Dominic Street, Valletta. This illustration is a litograph by L. Brockdorff. The street is still covered by black lava flagstones so neatly placed and fixed. These now lie under inches of tarmac and only a serious restoration of city streets would give back its prestine grandeur. This same lithograph by Brockdorff was printed in the Penny Magazine (Vol II, no 74), Saturday, February 6, 1894.
