Abstract: An in-depth description of the ‘the Prince of Maltese statuaries’: Carlo Darmanin. The article, published as part of the Life & Wellbeing segment, tells the story of his childhood, family business, and the training/interest in the Arts which lead him to becoming the best known local statuarian in Malta & Gozo. Even though it lists a great number of works, the primary attention remains on the Papier Mâché collections created for the Good Friday processions; discussing his innovative of use style, expressions and postures. Representations which remain significant to-date. Featuring photographs.
