Abstract: Doris Doublet, 85, recalls a childhood memory. In February 1949, her father Toni Spiteri was working at the Ricasoli lighthouse when strong winds and huge waves smashed the glass on the upper level and broke through the doors below, flooding the entire building. He and his co-worker Salvu Micallef eventually braved the breakwater and made their way out, avoiding the tragedy.
