Abstract: This article deals with the life of Monsignor Karm Psaila, better known as Dun Karm, as a priest and as a poet. Dun Karm Psaila was born October 18, 1871, in the village of Zebbug, Malta. He was ordained priest in 1894 when he was only 23 years old. A year later he began to teach at the seminary and continued to do so for many years until 1921. When Dun Kann was still young, he used to write poems in Italian. He published his first poetry book in 1896, and in 1914, he published a collection of poems in Maltese. He passed away on October 13, 1961, at the venerable age of 90. Dun Karm is honoured as Malta's national poet.
