Abstract: Over the years, the concept and philosophy of teaching has changed drastically. In today’s world, the role (or rather various roles) and duties of any teacher, not least the language teacher, have become, not simply complex but, above all, very demanding. To be able to respond to these evolving needs, teachers of foreign languages need to combine theoretical knowledge with practical application. Foreign language teachers need to achieve very high standards in their teaching and learning. This can only be achieved by means of creative thought and determination.
