Abstract: There are two sources of evidence relating to the emergence of Christianity in Malta: the shipwreck of St. Paul in A.D. 60 and the conclusions that can be derived from the facts described in Acts 27 and 28 of the New Testament; and the development of the catacombs during the first four centuries, indicating the transition from pagan beliefs to the sudden emergence of Christianity and its widespread growth following thereupon.
