Abstract: A comparative analysis of the European Values surveys allows for an investigation into the relation between religion and community care, the degree of tolerance or acceptance of different others by distinct social groupings. For the purpose of this paper, we shall first examine change in the religiosity of Maltese youth that has occurred over the past decade. On this basis we shall explore whether there is any relation between youth religiosity and a high social intolerance observable in Maltese society relative to other Western European countries.
