| Abstract: | The following article is an excerpt from an assignment submitted in part completion for the B.A. History of Art at the University of Malta. Brockdorff writes about two seminal paintings in the Kalkara Parish Church : 'St. Joseph as Protector' by Giuseppe Cali, and 'St. Philip of Agira' by Lazzaro Pisani. Throughout the article she notes the similarities between the two paintings in order to establish the apparent admiration of Pisani for the renowned Cali. |
