Abstract: | We go back to 2007 (12th September) when MaltaPost issued 4 stamps entitled "Motorcycles". The27c (€0.63) stamp (SG1555) featured a 1903 Civilian 'Minerva', reputed to be the oldest motorcycle in Malta, and also the oldest vehicle on the road. The photo shows two pairs of this stamp (top LHS corner of 2 sheets). The pair on the left is normal, but the top stamp of the pair on the right is shorter by one perforation. Unfortunately the top and left part of the selvedge were removed before the error was noticed, but the top part was saved as shown. [excerpt] |
