Unusual Trinidad B. W. I. hand stamp/Damaged crown flaw on the Edward VII Malta issue

Abstract

This Malta 1930 George V, Registered Letter Envelope, was sentto Miss. E. Johnt Elize Jhor at Trinidad Leasehold Ltd, Forest Reserve, Nr Fyzabad, Trinidad. B.W.I. It bears the following BWI- HAND STAMPS. On the front a Violet RETURN TO SENDER I Deceased, hand stamp, together with a manuscript "Deceased" I G., in red ink. -- Doing a spring cleaning job recently through my numerous box files, I came across the following observations, which were sent to me by a UK Malta Study Circle member. Unfortunately I do not have a record of his name, and so apologise for not being able to mention him personally. The note reads as follows; "In addition to the well known "CROWN" Flaw of the George V High Value Key plate issue of 1914 there is also a "Damaged Crown flaw" on the Edward VII issue. [excerpts]
