Abstract: | Translation, of its very nature, implies a relation between two languages: the language from which a translation is made and which is commonly known as a 'source language', and the language into which a translation is made and which we will call 'receptive language'. Consequently, the act of transition involved in this process takes place always in the same direction, namely, from the source language into the receptive language. The relation existing between two languages through translation makes this study a branch of Comparative Linguistics. |
