Abstract: The island of Malta has strong ties to its religious roots and beliefs, however, the many colonial leaders of the country affected this social aspect greatly. Casingena in a paper extracted from his M.A. thesis discusses the rift in beliefs on Malta's approach to Islam under Arab rule. He explains specifically the impact of this on the village of Marsaskala.
