Abstract: The annual Christmas set of stamps, which was issued by the Malta Postal Administration for the first time ever in 1964 and which was designed by the well-known artist Chev. Emvin Cremona, knows its origin to a letter from a Belgian catholic canon, who in 1963 wrote to the Postal Administration proposing the issue of an annual set of stamps to celebrate Christmas. It appears that this prelate had also communicated his idea of propagating philatelically the feast of the Nativity of Christ to other postal administrations as well. [excerpt]
