Abstract: Quality management of computer software and hardware is an integral part of the overall quality management system in the pharmaceutical industry. Computer system validation is proof that the total system which includes software, hardware, equipment and operating procedures operates in a predictable manner according to predefined specifications. When users generate their own validation documentation it is easier to ensure that end-user requirements are properly tested against the intended use and this may have positive effects on financial implications, time management and data integrity.
