Recent activities at the University of Malta : Gozo Campus

Abstract

Following the opening of three new courses in October 2020, another course commenced at the Gozo Campus in February 2021. This course, leading to a Pre-Tertiary Certificate in the Baroque Culture of the Maltese Islands, is being offered by the International Institute of Baroque Studies, University of Malta. The course, which spreads over two semesters, takes a multi-disciplinary approach to the study of the Baroque culture of the Maltese Islands and is designed to satisfy the knowledge requirements of individuals concerned with disseminating this knowledge responsibly to third parties. The course is intended to improve the student’s general knowledge of the historical context and traditions of Baroque culture. It equips the student with the skills necessary to observe, identify and analyse works of visual culture as well as with the critical tools required to understand the culture of preservation and conservation. Fourteen participants are following the course.
