Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is to show what the environment is like for women working in Maltese broadcast media. The literature review gives an overview of the history of feminism and also a background of work done pertaining to equality in the workplace. A chapter follows this on the methodology used in carrying out the research, which is qualitative and comprises of several interviews with female respondents working in Maltese broadcast media. The interview transcripts were then analysed in the next chapter and from them a conclusion was drawn. The resultant conclusion is that the situation for women has improved substantially over the years but that the whole process needs to be hastened to keep up with the times.
