Abstract: This study investigates any possible differences and similarities between the radio listenership patterns of Maltese and Gozitan housewives. Literature about differences in traits between Maltese and Gozitans is examined, followed by an examination of the epistemological characteristics of radio, the reasons why people listen to radio and radio broadcasting in Malta and Gozo, with an overview or community radio stations. Adopting a qualitative approach, differences and similarities in radio listening patterns and reasons between Maltese and Gozitans are discovered. The majority of Gozitan housewives get foreign news only from radio, Maltese housewives listen to Radju Marija more than their Gozitan counterparts do, whilst the latter listen to community radios more than the former do. Gozitan housewives have increased their radio listening after community radio stations started broadcasting in their localities.
