Abstract: This study investigates the relationship between the intended audience perception, and the actual audience perception, of Maltese radio programmes. Five programmes from the five leading Maltese stations were selected for study. Interviews were held with their producers, and focus groups were conducted with a sample of each target audience. The results from the two parties were then analysed, compared, and checked for congruency. The results of all five programmes were then amalgamated so that an idea could be formed about the current Maltese radio situation.
