Abstract: This study gives a detailed description of how Television is used as an advertising tool. It deals with issues such as the ability of TV to influence and control people's desires of a product. The advantages and disadvantages of TV as a commercial medium are also discussed and examined. This dissertation also focuses on the Internet as a medium for advertising. All media are compared in the lights of their advertising efficiency. The task of this study is to identify which medium is more effective when it comes to advertising- the World Wide Web or Television. The opinions and attitudes of students from the University of Malta, towards numerous aspects of advertising are tested with the means of a survey. This dissertation concludes with the analysis of the data collected with the help of the survey and a detailed conclusion.
