Abstract: Dwejra has a lot to offer to the visitor who is curious about the natural and historical ·heritage of Gozo. Especially in Spring time he can take a lovely walk from "Qala Dwejra" to the "Azure Window" up the cliffs facing Point "San Dimitri". Going down the cliffs over the Inland Sea, there is the most fascinating panorama he can dream of. The informed visitor who knows a little about Dwejra's past will enjoy himself even more. The tower, the fungus, the fossils, the cart ruts, the ancient chapels of the past, the inland sea... all these are full of mystery and wonder. In summer time, Dwejra is usually very lovely. Many tourists prefer to come here to see something different, besides enjoying the blue sea and relaxing in the hot sun of summer. You can get to Dwejra from Victoria. Take the Gharb Road, make a left turn to St. Laurence, and another left turn just in front of the village Church. The road down is good. If you plan to follow this guide make your first stop near the Tower which you can easily see as you go down the road. After viewing Fungus Rock and "Qala Dwejra" you may drive down a little more and park your car just in front of the Chapel, in the parking area. From here you can take a look at the salt-pans and fossils, just in front of the "Azure Window". In case difficulties arise the local people are always eager to help and direct you. Hospitality is a basic ingredient in the Gozitan character and personality.
