| Abstract: | The focus of this study is the argument of the agenda-setting hypothesis; that media influence what we think about rather than directly what we think. The public agenda was measured by telephone surveys and content analysis of TV news coverage of NET, TVM and Super 1 was carried out. This study looks at the correlation between the prime time TV news coverage of issues on the three stations. Also, the respondent's most important issues are compared with the three sources respectively. Then, the public's agenda is compared with the aggregated media agenda. A moderate but important contribution of television news to public opinion is demonstrated. |
