| Abstract: | The first Malta stamps to have the word Revenue printed on them were the Queen Victoria definitive issue of 1885. In Malta, Revenue and Fiscally cancelled stamps were always discarded and destroyed by Maltese Philatelists. They were looked down upon, not to be collected, and destroyed; A fiscally used stamp in a collection made ones eyebrow turn up. This outlook still by and large exists. [excerpt] |
