Abstract: This qualitative study aims to explore the experience of three children with a profile of dyslexia in Year 6, whilst preparing for the Junior Lyceum Examinations. The study seeks to research the challenges of children with a profile of dyslexia face during this year. Interviews showed the experiences of these children in detail. Results conveyed that the three participants went through a similar experience during Year 6. The themes that emerged through the interviews were academic difficulties, classroom and school experience, coping strategies, Junior Lyceum Examination and the system in general, personal well-being and self esteem. The participants participated fully in sharing their experiences. This contributed for a better understanding of what these children experience so they will be granted with the necessary help in order to succeed.
