Abstract: The cooling performance of the end region of a small Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC) induction motor was investigated. Results of the overall heat transfer coefficients of both the end windings and the end shield are presented for two different cooling arrangements. The benefits of each cooling configuration are discussed in some detail.
