Abstract: From Marquis de Piro, Welcome to Casa Rocca Piccola my family's Valletta home. Frances my wife and I, and indeed, our four children Cosmo, Clement, Louisa and Anton' hope that you enjoy your visit. Perhaps I should start by mentioning my ancestor Gio' Pio de Piro who is a figure-head of the family. He was ennobled by the Sovereign Prince of Malta Grand Master Fra Raymundo Perellos y Rocaful on April 23rd, 1716 when he received the title of Baron of the Maltese mediaeval fief of Budaq. On November 6th, 1742 he was created 1st Marquis de Piro by Philip V of Spain. The de Piros were not knights of Malta but their connections with the Order were significant. A short family history follows the description of the house and its various tenants.
