Abstract: 1. This dissertation will be dealing with the geographical topic of coastal development and the conflicts that arise from such development. The arguments will be based on human development on the coast and the conflicts mentioned are between different categories of people who live or work on a particular coastal area. 2. Coastal development occur in different ways and amongst the development which occur in the human section there are:- a. industrial development : development occurring with the industry which takes part on the coast. b. touristic development : development occurring in the touristic industry sector and activities resulting from tourism. c. residential development: development occurring with the increase of residents and their respective activities. d. Development: the use of resources and the application of available technology to bring about an increase in the standard of living with an economy. 3. The literature being used may vary from geography books, unpublished these, journals and articles (local ones and international ones). Questionnaires are also required for the building of this dissertation. The questionnaires will reflect people's opinion and would give a clear image of the situation.
