Abstract: Very little, if anything has ever been written on the village of Gharghur during the times of the Knights of St. John. One finds only passing references to the village in the records of the time. Historians like Abela, Ciantar, Ferris and others, give a description of the churches of the village rather than anything else. So for my work I relied as much as possible on the documents of the time rather than on what has already been written by our historians. I have based my arguments on Dusina's Report, on the Pastoral Visits of Bishops Gargallo and Cagliares and on the original documents found in the archives of the Parish-priest of Gharghur. I do not claim any great achievements but some conclusions at which I have arrived may serve as an incentive to future historians who may be able to reap better fruits [...].
