Abstract: | The study aims to explain the relationship between the ideas of John Dewey and the Personal and Social Development teacher. John Dewey's main philosophical themes, policy documents [such as the National Minimum Curriculum (1999)] and other documents that make reference to PSD will be the main focus of this research. In order to enrich my philosophical inquiry, a focus group interview with three PSD teachers was conducted. The aim is to analyse whether there is a relation between John Dewey's work and their work. The implications, limitations and recommendations are presented in this dissertation. |
