Abstract: The thyristor phase-angle trigger module is designed to provide phase control to a variety of applications. This module is programmed, so that half- and fully- controlled, single- and three-phase bridges, three-pulse cycloconverters and single-phase bridge inverters can be chosen, according to the user's need. This unit contains all the control circuitry necessary to provide control from near 0 to 180° conduction angle using the inverse cosine control scheme. Among the variety of applications for which this module is designed are d.c. power transmission, d.c., motor drives, heating control and lighting control.
