| Abstract: | For the electrical engineer, one of the most powerful computer aided design tools available, is circuit simulation software. such softwares can be used to perform analysis and simulate specific electrical circuits. This project presents a detailed model of a three phase bridge controlled rectifier based on a digital computer simulation. This model was then used to analyse the modes of operation of the rectifier. Two simulation softwares were used; i.e. SPICE and PSI/e, and it was found that SPICE was not suitable for simulating such circuits. The simulation software used was then PSI/e. This is a block oriented simulation software were a mathematical model of the system has to be created and then solved by using corrisponding blocks. |
