Abstract: Sir, - Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIgG) preparations made by various methods have been shown to transmit non-A, non-B hepatitis (NANBH), except for preparations in which a pH4/ mild-pepsin step was included in the manufacture. We report the probable transmission of NANBH to 4 recipients of a single batch of IVIgG manufactured by the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS). [Excerpt]
