Abstract: Based on a review of literature acquired, Chapter One deals with the effect of parents' separation on their children, and also delves into what the literature says regarding contact between children and the parent who does not have custody. Chapter two the discusses both Local and Foreign Services. It explains the history of the services locally, how it is set-up, the current use and why the visits need to be supervised. It also presents several Foreign Services, explains different supervision models and briefly discusses the costs of running such a service! Chapter three presents the field study, the limitations, the methodology used, the presentation of the results and the implications of the findings. Chapter Four offers various recommendations based on the information gathered on how to run the local service. Chapter Five sums up this study with conclusions and a final thought.
