The Albert M. Cassola papers : correspondence, unpublished works, newspaper cuttings and other miscellanea

Abstract

A large collection of miscellaneous papers formerly belonging to the author and teacher Albert M. Cassola and donated to the UM Library by his son Prof Arnold Cassola. The collection throws light on his life-long dedication to the Maltese and Italian languages and his extensive literary output in both these languages (including English). In it one can find correspondence, newspapers cuttings of articles and letters, numerous type-written poems, songs, radio plays and short stories in Maltese, Italian and English and his notes on the works of other Maltese and Italian writers. Also of interest to the researcher are Cassola's papers relating to his role as examiner of Italian and his involvement in various song festivals both locally and abroad. The collection is available for consultation at the Archives and Rare books department.
