Prof. Norbert Bugeja’s poetry shortlisted for the Mediterranean Poetry Prize

Prof. Norbert Bugeja’s poetry submission, translated into the Italian by Aaron Abdilla, has made it to the final shortlist of the prestigious Mediterranean Poetry Prize. The list of finalists includes some of the leading voices in Mediterranean poetry at the present moment.

The annual international award is adjudicated by an eminent jury of authors, scholars and journalists from Europe, North Africa and the United States. The Prize takes place under the patronage of the universities of La Sapienza, Lille, Padova, Torino, Pisa, Napoli l’Orientale, Bari, Palermo, DAMS, Durrës, Società Dante Alighieri, Centro Nazionale di Studi Leopardiani, Medterranean Arts and Literature Movement, ISMEO, COPPEM, Medinova and the Commune di Favignana.

The recipient for the 2024 edition of the Mediterranean Poetry Prize was the foremost Palestinian novelist and poet Liana Badr. Rai Cultura has announced that the 2025 awards ceremony, when the Prize recipient and Honourable Mentions will be known, will take place at Rome’s Palazzo Valentini on January 16th.
