The Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects & Transport announced the first edition of the Malta National Transport Awards to celebrate the tireless efforts of those that have significantly contributed to the transport sector.
These awards are intended to address three main objectives:
1. To recognise and honour outstanding individuals and organisations who have made significant contributions to the transport industry.
2. To showcase best practices, innovations, and achievements in the transport sector.
3. To foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among transport professionals and stakeholders.
The awards are in the following categories:
- Innovation: Projects that demonstrate ground-breaking results and employ new technologies or approaches to enhance transportation.
- Sustainability: Recognising organisations that implement policies to reduce their environmental impact, including using alternative fuels and eco-friendly practices.
- Modal Shift: Celebrating initiatives that have successfully shifted transportation modes or improved street environments, such as cycling strategies and marketing campaigns.
- Infrastructure: Honouring innovative designs that contribute to flexible, sustainable, and environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
- Safety: recognising efforts in road safety, traffic management, and enforcement that have led to positive outcomes.
In that regard, it would be appreciated if you could promote participation by the University of Malta and its academic entities.
