TRANSIT[ion] ... extending the black and white piano keyboard towards multi-coloured landscapes of electronic music, extended piano technique and video.
Evenings on Campus was one of the very first festivals in Malta which started to give space to different forms of contemporary culture through its representations of visual and performing arts. Evenings on Campus has become a regular and appreciated addition to Malta’s summer cultural life. Now in its 25th edition, this year, Evenings on Campus will be held from Sunday 23 July to Friday 11 August.
Known for her avant-garde performances, concert pianist Tricia Dawn Williams will perform contemporary piano works by Henry Cowell, Ruben Zahra, Michel Van der Aa, Steve Reich, Atau Tanaka and George Crumb. A performance that will extend the black and white piano keyboard towards multi-coloured landscapes of electronic music, extended piano technique, video and will also feature motion sensors. A large screen will constitute the backdrop to the concert, enticing the audience to a contemporary and interdisciplinary portrait of the piano. This is a new project that has been specially designed for and will be launched during Evenings on Campus.
