Prof. Paul Clough was a Professor of Anthropology at the University of Malta. He joined the University of Malta after completing his PhD at Oxford in 1993. He headed the Department of Anthropology for 13 years and was a committed unionist. Paul was a leading scholar in the field of African Studies and has conducted long-term research with West African migrants in Malta. A political economist, a Marxist and a deep Catholic, Paul was a passionate lecturer and an unwavering humanitarian with extensive roots in the community.
