Still a student but looking for a job? If your hunt is on, then you should make a trip to this year’s Junior College Career Day, taking place on Saturday 14 March 2020 at the G.F. Abela Junior College, Msida.
We’ve thought of a few reasons why it would help you in more ways than you might realise:
1. Get some guidance for your job search
Jobsplus representatives will also be present for the event, providing you with a vast selection of available full-time and part-time jobs. They will also happily guide you throughout the process of applying for a new job and settling into one.
2. Be a contender for jobs with top local companies
Whether you want to work in hospitality, banking, engineering, or the automotive industry, a number of companies will welcome you with open arms.
By the way, a list for available jobs can be found on our Facebook Page.
3. Get comfortable by sitting for informal interviews
It’s normal to feel nervous the first few times you walk up to a potential employer. Being present at this career day will help you work through the initial jitters and get comfortable with the interviewing process, which is something you can’t easily do through an online job search.
4. Access a wealth of resources at your disposal
If you have no idea what to do in terms of your career, career counsellors can help you by talking to you about your aspirations and interests, as a starting point.
5. Build your resumé
It’s the first thing your employer will see, and as we all know, first impressions are important. By talking to various professionals on the day, you will get a tip, or ten, about how to get across all the important information about you and your experience.
