Title: Remote sensing from space and applications
Date: 13 and 14 October 2020
The University of Malta, in collaboration with the Centre National D’Etudes Spatiales (CNES) in Toulouse, France is organising a two-day workshop on Remote Sensing and its applications. The workshop will take place remotely using the Zoom online platform on 13 and 14 October 2020.
The workshop will aim at:
● Training the next generation of scientists and professionals on the use of remote sensing for various domains including urban monitoring, agriculture, environmental monitoring, as well as techniques for object and change detection
● Explaining the theoretical principles, data products, processing and their uses in various applications
● Introducing tools and methods for the exploitation of EO satellite data (in particular the Orfeo Toolbox)
● Providing practical cases of Earth Observation image/data processing.
Participation is free and participants are expected to connect and work on in-class exercises using their own computer during the workshop event (details will be provided after registration).
No previous Remote Sensing experience is required. This workshop is funded by the SATINET project which is financed by the Malta Council for Science & Technology, for and on behalf of the Foundation for Science and Technology, through the MCST-CNES Space Bilateral Fund.
